Thailand welcomes 20,000 Foreign Visitors

Thailand welcomed 20,272 foreign tourists last October, according to a report by the Thai Tourism Ministry. Compared to last year, the number increased by 1,201 foreign tourists as a result of the tour program experience.

The program was launched ahead of the Southeast Asian nation's reopening on November 1, with the aim of bringing its important tourism sector back to life and operation after being devastated by the Corona pandemic.

The country received 106,117 foreign tourists from January to October this year, but compared to early 2020, when 6.7 million tourists were registered before strict entry restrictions were imposed, in an effort to curb the virus, there has been a decline this year in tourism in Thailand.

The Thai Planning Agency said that this year it is expected to receive 200,000 foreign tourists, and five million visitors next year, compared to 40 million foreign arrivals in 2019.
